"Desert Symphony"

"Desert Symphony" presents a luminous interplay of colour as the sun falls toward the horizon, the sky and earth blending into one. Engelman often sits in wonder at these moments—salt lakes shine and distant hills glow — the light transfixes her gaze and she remembers these surreal moments as she paints. Warm bands of powdered glass filled vermillion, magenta and deep purple sweep the surface; layered brushwork and subtle highlights shifts textures and depth in this work. The piece conveys serene stillness alongside quiet motion, lending atmosphere and warmth to any interior. A striking addition to any space.
