JOURNEYS
Engelman made many journeys out into the outback throughout the years starting as a child in Model A Ford belonging to her father, and later by herself. However, in recent decades, she has taken many artists and other creatives out on her treks with her to show them the places she loved starting with Arakaroola bi-annually from 2013 through to 2024, a trek Engelman still takes today often. We provide here a list of some of the journeys and treks into Australia's wild and arid regionsand other areas that have inspired her works over many years. Out of the treks to Arkaroola , a group of creatives and artists arose that became know as "The Wild Women of Arkaroola PLUS", who went on to workshop and exhibit together. Many of them are still pursuing their arts life and building new initiatives such as Marion Mikkelsen's "Art at Work" on the Central Coast of NSW.
